Welcome to the Drayton Valley Paddling Club (DVPC)!

The Drayton Valley Paddling Club was created as a non-profit club in 2006. 

Our Goals are to:

  • Promote recreational paddling for persons of all ages and skill levels.
  • Provide training for paddling safety, regulatory requirements and environmental awareness.
  • Advocate a sustainable environment through "Leave No Trace" philosophy.
  • Participate as a liaison with the Eagle Point Blue Rapids Parks, and other user groups to ensure our resources are preserved for future generations.

Typically the DVPC plans 4 or 5 trips, events or training sessions per summer season.  Optionally, members just meet at a point on the North Saskatchewan River and do a day trip and picnic. What a great back yard!

Paddling Events

 

May 20th, 2012  Red Deer from Riverbend to the Joffre Bridge. Please call Rita Fowell at  780-542-6704 before Friday at 4 or call my cell at 780-514-6704 after that.

This is a novice run with some beautiful scenery through the canyon and lots of birds and wildlife.

We will put in mid morning and enjoy a relaxing 29km paddle that will probably take till about supper time.  Pack some food and your gear and come out and join us.
